The cylindrical magnet is composed of an iron/boron/rare earth alloy which is currently the most powerful magnetic alloy. The magnet is coated with an anti-corrosion covering (chrome and nickel alloy) to protect it from impacts and to give an attractive finish.
Pull strength decreases if the magnet isn’t in flush contact with the ferrous surface.
The highest magnetic strength is located in the circular bases of the cylindric magnet. There is no strength in the middle of the curve face.
